
At the end of 2024, the Terre des Hommes Ukraine team conducted a training on “Child Protection in Emergencies: Practical Knowledge for Professionals” for employees of various institutions working with children. In total, 24 participants attended the event - specialists from social services, children's services, psychologists and teachers from remote villages in Ivano-Frankivsk region were trained on child protection in emergencies.
Key topics of the training:
- basic concepts and approaches to child protection.
- Socio-ecological model for understanding the impact of the environment on the child.
- Adaptation of measures to the age and stage of development of the child.
- identification of risks in the field of child protection.
- principles of the best interests of the child and involvement of children in decision-making processes.
- techniques of communication with children for effective interaction.
“The training included a lot of practical exercises that helped to better absorb and deepen knowledge on child protection in emergencies. In particular, special attention was paid to the minimum standards of child protection,” said Anastasia Nepran, Tdh trainer.
The training not only enriched the participants with practical knowledge, but also contributed to creating an atmosphere of cooperation and experience exchange. Participants emphasized the importance of teamwork and the value of the skills they have gained for protecting children's rights.
