From August 10–12, in Kamianets-Podilskyi was held one of the city’s most unusual events — the “PLAY CHIP Summer Camp: Belight AI Semiconductor.” This educational event focused on artificial intelligence and semiconductor technologies. The camp was organized by the Terre des hommes (Tdh) Foundation in Ukraine with the support from International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). The event was attended by children and facilitators from the Resilience Innovation Facilities (RIF), established by the Tdh team in collaboration with its partners.

During three eventful days of camp, participants learned the basics of artificial intelligence, semiconductor technologies, visual programming, and modern digital tools, and took part in teamwork exercises and the creation of their own projects. They also conducted practical sessions using modern software and digital equipment, during which they worked on their own digital projects and presented the results of their work.
«I really enjoyed programming with Rabboni. It makes creating games very easy. In the future, I’d like to work in this field. Right now, I live in a small town, and sometimes there’s nothing to do. Even though I have friends, there’s nowhere to hang out. I wish there were more places like the RIF Center.» says Yura, a 14-year-old camp participant, sharing his impressions.
Leveraging Taiwan’s expertise in semiconductor and digital innovation, the goal of the camp was to introduce children and young people to modern technologies and to develop their digital literacy, creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork skills through practical learning experiences. The event will also help expand the practical capabilities of facilitators at the Resilience Innovation Facilities (RIF) in using modern educational tools in their work.

This camp took place in a Resilience Innovation facility (RIF) also supported by Tdh and TaiwanICDF. RIF provides safe spaces for children and youth where modern technology is combined with the development of life skills, creativity, teamwork, and psychosocial support.
