Today, at the invitation of the Child Protection Sub-Cluster, we organized the first online meeting of the Sub-Cluster in Ivano-Frankivsk region, which was joined by Ukrainian and international NGOs together with representatives of local authorities.
Terre des hommes has been present in Ivano-Frankivsk region for three months and continues to provide humanitarian aid, psychosocial assistance, facilitates training of specialists, and plans to expand its activities to 4 more regions.
This meeting was important for all participants who are implementing their projects in the region, as the discussion covered the issues of updating the situation regarding the needs of families with children, the presence of NGOs in the field of child protection and programs that are currently being implemented.
Here are the key points of the meeting:
- There are 142,000 IDPs in the region who have received a certificate, including almost 46,000 children under the age of 18
- The main needs are food, seasonal items, school supplies, tablets for students, household appliances, etc.
- There are many children who came from the Eastern regions of Ukraine continue their studies online, children who are in health care and rehabilitation institutions and those who have lost one of their parents.
- Social workers work with IDP families and vulnerable groups throughout the region
- Priority areas of assistance - Kosiv and Verkhovyna districts
