Psychosocial well-being and inclusive community environment for children in Eastern Ukraine

The conflict in Eastern Ukraine continues to affect access to basic health and social care services,  including mental health and psychosocial support,  for millions of people.  The protracted nature of the crisis has a profound impact on the community and the individual civilian population of Eastern Ukraine.

According to the WHO, for the population affected by the humanitarian crisis, it is noted that most people experience psychological distress, and overall mental health problems are growing from 10%to 15-20%. Children and adolescents continue to be one of the most vulnerable groups affected by the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. One of the main directions of Tdh Ukraine is the implementation of project activities for children together with UNICEF  Ukraine at secondary schools and social protection institutions in the 0-20-kilometer zone from the line of demarcation.

The project "Psychosocial well-being and inclusive community environment for children in Eastern Ukraine" focuses on several components, which are combined with the theme of social inclusion and sensitization. 

1. Case Management mine victims assistance

Complex support families affected by mines and explosive remnants of war in Eastern Ukraine
 
2. Psychosocial support

Psychosocial support for children through Movement, Games and Sport Methodology

3. Positive Parenting

Conducting trainings on "positive parenting" for parents and/or caregivers who want to deepen their knowledge on stress-free education, relationship in the family, and non-conflict communication. 

4. "YouCreate"

Improving the psychosocial well-being, ability and cohesion of youth affected by long-term conflict in Eastern Ukraine by involving youth activists in creative initiatives based on YouCreate methodology

5. Method Writing

Training program that helps to reveal creative abilities, adjust the creative process and find authentic, writing style
