Last week, the team of the Foundation "Terre des hommes - Helping children worldwide" met with representatives of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, regional council, The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the National University "Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic" to establish cooperation to support innovative projects for the development of entrepreneurship in the region.

The project “Establishment of Digital Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab)” aims to attract young people and entrepreneurs to share experiences and create their own technological products through modern equipment. This equipment will be purchased and located in a new digital laboratory - 3D printer, laser cutting machine, milling machine etc.

The precondition of the project was the implementation of the previous project "FabLab Robotics" on the basis of the National University "Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic", for which in 2021 8 units of equipment and facilities were purchased to start the first such laboratory in the region.

Within the framework of the new project on the basis of the laboratory it is planned to hold seminars, master classes for knowledge exchange, acquisition of skills both in the use of specialized equipment and in social entrepreneurship, necessary for the functioning of the laboratory.

“I want to note that business support is always among the priorities of regional authorities. Our main task today is to create the most favorable conditions for their activities and further development. For our part, we express our sincere gratitude for the active cooperation in supporting innovative projects for the development of entrepreneurship in the region and look forward to further fruitful cooperation! We hope that together we will create a quality and affordable workspace, which will start the era of new technology startups”, – said Ruslan Shikhanov, Deputy Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration.

“Our project aims to increase the participation of target groups in the education system as another learning option and offers a path that provides the skills and knowledge needed to work in a particular profession. This approach will help not only to generate income, but also to promote community development, social, cultural and environmental goals, combined with poverty alleviation and the development of public services. And most importantly - the acquired skills and knowledge meet the requirements of the labor market and provide a path to a new profession”, - Olga Dombrovska, project manager of the Terre des hommes Foundation in Ukraine.
