We have set up 8 more child-friendly spaces in Khmelnytskyi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions as part of the project "Protection and Psychosocial Support for War-Affected Children and Families in Ukraine", with funding from the Tierra de hombres España and Xunta de Galicia foundations. About 2,000 children have already visited these spaces, where everyone has the opportunity to feel safe and receive support to develop their skills.
The facilitators work according to the Tdh methodology "Movement, Games, Sports and Creativity" and received the necessary equipment to conduct psychosocial classes and games.
"Every day children see the terrible events that are happening in Ukraine. It hurts them as deeply as it hurts adults. It is important to create places for children where they will feel safe, can find new friends, forget about fear and want to express themselves. This is exactly what the spaces equipped by Tdh are like. Parents note that their children's psychosocial state improves after classes in the spaces. Positive changes are even observed in education," says Yana Rybak, project specialist at Tdh.
Children are happy to visit new spaces, and we continue to work, taking care of their safety and comfort.
