The project intends to support relocating universities namely Tavria State Agrotechnological University (Melitopol), Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (Berdyansk), that are moving from the occupied territories in East Ukraine and will continue their activities using the facilities of the Zaporizhzhia National University, and Mariupol State University, currently located in Kyiv.
The project is unique in its kind and consists of several components.
The first is the provision of modern equipment to support the information and digital base of the displaced universities. Our goal is to support the educational infrastructure of the displaced universities by providing ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) equipment necessary for the educational process.
The second is to provide mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to the staff and students of host and displaced institutions (universities) to respond to the challenges caused by the hostilities and displacement.
Tdh specialists will conduct a series of trainings on first psychological aid for teachers and students of the three universities, provide practical tools for the provision of first psychological aid, both to themselves and others.
A group of Tdh psychologists will assess the needs of students and teachers in the context of first psychological aid, and will also develop a manual with practical self-help tools, taking into account the needs of students and teachers of the universities participating in the project.
As part of the project, three relocated universities will receive innovative equipment, 20 teachers and 50 students will be trained in psychological first aid, 150 teachers and 500 students will receive support in the field of mental health and psychosocial care (MHPSS), a needs assessment report on mental health and psychosocial care will be created, and a curriculum on socioemotional learning for teachers will be developed.
